Read-Aloud Day: March 4, 2015
Hello, Red Fox by Eric Carle
Students were introduced to color theory and simultaneous contrast after-image with the book, Hello, Red Fox by Eric Carle. After reading the book and the slideshow demonstration, students painted their own colorful animals (real or imaginary) that will be displayed for others to view. To see the after-image effect, stare at the picture without moving your eyes and slowly count to ten. Then look at a white wall or white piece of paper. The image should appear as a faint "ghost-image". The color(s) you see will be the color opposites of the painted image. |
